Jorja Smith - Lost & Found

Jorja Smith - Lost & Found

As you can see from the album cover, all of my records have a little removable sticker indicatiing the genre of the album. With a substantial vinyl collection, this was the best way I could organize my albums in order to find the genre of music I might be in the mood for. For instance, if i want to chill out with something soaring and soulful, I would want to reach into my funk/soul collection as opposed to pulling out a piece of hard bop jazz.

Well, the process of labelling has also allowed me try some records that often don’t make it to the top of the playlist because they are more unknown to me. This was one of those albums. All I can say is ‘Move over old favourites, there’s a new kid in town and it’s Jorja Smith’ - with warm searing vocals and an easy funky groove, I’m reminded of a cross between Adele and Joss Stone (one of my favourites! I’m playing this one day and night - whether it’s with early morning coffee on a winter morning or a romantic evening in the lounge, this album makes me feel warm, loved and…chill!
