The honeybee works day in and day out to create a beautiful hive for, and with, it’s family. It collects nectar from the wonderful world of flora and produces sweet honey, and in doing so pollinates our gardens, and forests. Always cute and industrious, bees will only sting when their family is threatened. Bees are an integral part of our planet’s ecosystem, while also being an integral part of their family’s ecosystem.
This Heritage Hive is a passion project I’m creating for my family as a way to capture our family memories. It started as a way to easily share with my family both our past and evolving family recipe collection and the fond memories they evoke. However, as the concept of this website came together, it also became an excellent vehicle to journal our urban vegetable gardening adventures and our personal neophyte audiophile reviews of our vinyl record collection. And as the years pass and our family continues to mature, I look forward to creating more family memories around shared garden to table family meals accompanied by the perfect piano forte played on our subtly crackly record player. I can already see the smiles and hear the laughter at our next family meal.
